GarryOwen Ventures was launched on a the premise that there is a need to increase the convergence of traditional legal, business and management consulting services with operational perspectives and practical solutions. For those who know the story of GarryOwen, you will understand immediately — things are always a little different in the Cavalry and teamwork, esprit de corps and mission focus is never in short supply.
Whether you know what GarryOwen is or not, you are invited to please contact us directly so we can explain first hand who we are and what we do. To be totally candid, marketing and sales is not our forte — it is not what we do — as is probably apparent by this “non-standard” About Us page. So, we welcome any opportunity to talk directly with you about who we are and what we can do to help your business.
Simply put, as the Founder of GarryOwen Ventures, I am a former US Army Cavalry Soldier who along the way turned management consultant, then corporate attorney and eventually an executive leader in a defense technology corporation. As an attorney, my legal background is in M&A and corporate transactions and my practice has always focused on creating win-win deals and solving problems to help enable business. Simply put, you take a combat soldier’s passion for team play and task focus and combine that with the functional expertise gained from board rooms and deal tables and mix in the leadership skills and strategic vision built upon throughout a career and you get a very unique perspective — a lawyer who is not like any others or a business person with some extra capabilities. So, GarryOwen Ventures is not intended to be like any other law or management consulting firm or any other program management or systems integration businesses.
Another point “About Us” that is important to state up front is that while GarryOwen Ventures can help any technology business (and has experience supporting many different types of companies in many different types of industries), a significant focus is on the development of defense technologies. After all, a significant part of my career has been playing a small role in the large effort that it takes to ensure that the men and women of our Armed Forces (and our Allies) have the absolute best technologies to do their job. So, that is something that will always be a part of what GarryOwen Ventures is all about.
Like a Cavalry Scout that uses all of his skills and abilities that he has learned during his training and prior missions to complete his current mission, that is the approach we take to our current mission. So, if you are looking for a standard law firm, typical corporate lawyer or traditional management consultant, you should probably keep looking. But, if you are looking for something different – somebody skilled and expert as a lawyer but practical and task oriented as a businessperson, GarryOwen Ventures may be the right solution for you.
What we will promise is integrity and commitment. If something is not within our lane, we will tell you. If we take on a task, we will be committed to your success on that task. As we grow our firm, we will remain true to these simple objectives and principals.
